This policy explains the information Factful News processes to verify articles, publish checks, and respond to readers.
Information we collect
When you submit an article, we process its URL and limited request metadata needed for security and rate limiting. When you contact us, we store your name, email address, message, and a submission reference.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to the weekly newsletter we store your email address, the time and IP address of your sign-up and confirmation, and your unsubscribe record, so we can prove consent. We only email an address after you click the confirmation link (double opt-in). Emails are sent through Resend, our email provider, and contain no tracking pixels. Every email has an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing takes effect immediately and we keep the record so you are not emailed again.
How information is used
Submitted article URLs are used to produce public fact checks. Contact information is used only to respond to the request, operate the service, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
Service providers
Factful uses infrastructure, database, AI-analysis, and form-delivery providers to operate the service. We minimize the data sent to each provider and keep credentials on the server.
Retention and choices
Published fact checks may remain available as an editorial record. Contact and security records are retained only as long as operationally necessary. Use the contact page to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable.
